Introducing the CEM Benchmark
A public benchmark of 9 clinical education management platforms across 28 capabilities, with methodology and source-backed comparisons.
Choosing a clinical education management platform should not come down to a polished demo and a vague feature matrix.
Programs need a clearer way to compare what vendors actually support: placements, compliance, evaluations, curriculum mapping, reporting, security, and the automation that reduces faculty burden.
Today we're publishing the HealthTasks CEM Benchmark.
What it is
The CEM Benchmark is a public evaluation of full-suite clinical education management platforms. Release 2026.3 covers 9 vendors across 28 core capabilities, with methodology notes, evidence standards, and source-backed comparisons.
It is designed for deans, program directors, clinical coordinators, and institutional buyers who need more than marketing claims.
How to use it
Start with the overview, then dig into what matters for your RFP:
- Capability definitions and scoring rules
- Vendor pages with evidence
- Head-to-head comparisons, including HealthTasks vs Exxat and other peers
- A public dataset for teams that want to inspect the underlying records
The goal is not a popularity contest. It is a shared reference for what "full suite" should mean in clinical education software.
Why we built it
Clinical education tooling has been hard to compare honestly. Feature names differ. Automation claims blur native product capability with partner add-ons. Accreditation and CQI needs get buried under placement logistics.
The benchmark makes those distinctions explicit, so programs can evaluate platforms on evidence instead of slide decks alone.
